Miibaru Beach

I realize that I talk about the heat/humidity here quite often in my blog posts, but I need to mention once again that this place is HOT. Hotter than Hell, hot enough where I'm absolutely terrified for summer to come. I'm not sure if people enjoy being the bearer of bad news, but everytime the weather is brought up in conversation there is always that one person who reminds me to "just wait for summer, it's even hotter." How it could get hotter than a 101 degree "real feel" is beyond me, but I guess I will have to wait and see.
Anyway, Miibaru Beach is obviously a stunner, hot, but straight out of a travel magazine. Another near-empty stretch of sand where Ben and I were free to do whatever we want i.e. eat an entire bag of Sun Chips while soaking up the sun in peace. My favorite part about this beach was that we were able to walk at least a quarter of a mile into the water which at its deepest went up to my waist. I love the Jersey Shore, but the super warm, crystal clear water in Okinawa definitely has it beat. For a good portion of the morning Ben, a little old fisherman, another couple, and I pretty much had the beach to ourselves. Eventually, it filled up with other tourists and locals and our private beach suddenly looked more like a water park. Ben and I decided it was probably time to head out. It wasn't much of a loss though, by 1 pm it is almost unbearable being outside so our 2 hours by the Pacific were more than enough. The best part about this trip was that I left the beach sunburn-less which is an honest-to-God miracle!!!!!
